about
Part I: Sputnik (0:50)
Part II: Vostok (4:22)
Part III: Death of a Cosmonaut (3:09)
Part IV: Cosmic Age (3:23)
Part V: Signals from Space (0:23)
This track is a tribute to the people who dedicated their lives (sometimes literally) to the beginnings of space exploration. At the same time, it is my personal exercise in arrangement - the entire composition is based around variations on a single theme in three different moods (parts II to IV).
____________
Sergey Korolyov (1907–1966) was the lead Soviet rocket engineer and spacecraft designer in the 1950s and 1960s, involved in the development of Sputnik and Vostok spacecrafts, sending the first artificial object, first animal and first human being to the Earth orbit.
Vladimir Komarov was the first victim of space race who died in a spacecraft. On 23 April 1967, the landing of Soyuz 1 failed due to its numerous technical problems, killing Komarov upon the crash. The problems were well known to Komarov, an accomplished engineer and cosmonaut, who recommended not to launch Soyuz 1 at the planned term. However, the Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev commanded to launch the flight. When entering the spacecraft, Komarov knew very well that Khrushchev's political decision was also his death sentence.

If you like Tangerine Dream but was disappointed by the last 30 years of their output, this will be an album for you - taking some of the vintage goodness and mixing it with new ideas. Good stuff. Electronic Flash Unit
For those who miss Mike Oldfield's output from 1970s, Robert Reed is as close as you can get to that style of music. Great melodies and production. Electronic Flash Unit
